Magri Cycles first started trading in the year 1889 by Michelina Magri. In 1889 bicycles were becoming a very popular and cheap means of transport and being aware of this evolving trend, Michelina, decided to open a shop offering basic bicycle repairs. Within a very short period of time she was becoming very popular with locals around her hometown in Mosta and her business began to expand.

Paul kept on expanding his bicycle shop and apart from the standard bicycle repairs, he was venturing into bicycle frame modifications. The eldest son, Charlie, was the first one to help in the family business with his brother John. Both showed great interest and determination to follow in their father’s footsteps and mastered the trade very quickly.

This didn’t stop the Magri’s from upkeeping the family business and after discussing with the rest of the family, Joe, his brother started running the sales side of the business. John, being a highly skilled bicycle mechanic, continued with his maintenance and repairs whilst his brother Joe together with the help of his wife Marianne, daughter Rachel and his late son Daniel, managed the sales and importations section where they introduced more renowned brands to the business. However, after 15 years dealing with the latter, Joe decided to retire.
